Dana Goldman
Professor and the Norman Topping Chair in Medicine and Public Policy, University of Southern California
Dana Goldman is a Professor and the Norman Topping Chair in Medicine and Public Policy at the University of Southern California, where he is also the founding director of the Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics. Prior to this appointment, he held the Chair in Health Economics at the RAND Corporation and was the first director of RAND's program in Health Economics, Finance, and Organization and the Bing Center for Health Economics. Dr. Goldman’s research focuses on health economics, Medicare, aging, disability, and chronic disease. Dr. Goldman’s recognitions include membership in the Institute of Medicine, the inaugural MetLife Foundation Silver Scholar Award, the Eugene Garfield Economic Impact Prize, and the NIHCM’s Alice S. Hersh New Investigator Award. Dr. Goldman’s research has been published in leading medical, economic, health policy, and statistics journals. He is a health policy advisor to the Congressional Budget Office, and has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Business Week, U.S. News and World Report, The Economist, NBC Nightly News, CNN, National Public Radio, and other media. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University.
