Jason Baron is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Economics at Florida State University. His research fields include economic development, labor economics, and the economics of education. His dissertation examines the role that teachers’ unions play in the public education system in the U.S. Specifically, it seeks to understand the effect of recent episodes of teacher deunionization on outcomes such as student achievement and new teacher supply.
