In a recent article on gay marriage, The Atlantic’s Derek Thompson cited Hamilton Project data from “The Marriage Gap: The Impact of Economic and Technological Change on Marriage Rates” on the wages of low-income men. Thompson highlights a chart from THP that shows the change in earnings and the change in the share of men married by earnings percentile and notes that low-income men had the largest decline in marriage rates since the 1970s.
