Laura Feiveson is a section chief in the Division of Research and Statistics at the Federal Reserve Board. Her group analyzes the current state of the economy— with a focus on household and firm spending and investment behavior—and presents a forecast to senior officials and the Board of Governors. Her research focuses on macroeconomics, inequality, big data, and fiscal stimulus. Feiveson received her Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2012. From 2009-2010, she served as an economist on the White House Council of Economic Advisers. She received her B.S. in mathematics and physics from Yale University in 2002.
