Christopher Costello is a professor of economics at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management, University of California Santa Barbara and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles on property rights and fishery management in journals such as Science, Nature, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Journal of Environmental Economics and Management. He is co-Principal Investigator of the Sustainable Fisheries Group at University of California, Santa Barbara and regularly consults with conservation organizations and the fishing industry about fishery management design.
