Michael S. Barr is the Roy F. and Jean Humphrey Proffitt Professor of Law, and Professor of Public Policy, at the University of Michigan, and a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. From 2009-2010, he served as the Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He co-authored a discussion paper for The Hamilton Project in September 2008.
