Thomas S. Dee, PhD, is a Professor and the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education. Professor Dee is also the Director of the Stanford Center for Education Policy Analysis (CEPA), a research associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR). His research focuses on the application of quasi-experimental and experimental methods that provide rigorous quantitative evidence and inform contemporary policy debates in education. His recent research projects have focused on teacher performance assessment and turnover in the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), federally sponsored whole-school reforms under NCLB waivers, and the impact of curricular reforms in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).
